Welcome to the Wonder Years!

There are so many things that your child wonders about as they progress through these years of young adolescence (ages 10-15).  They wonder about the physical changes that are going on with their bodies.  They wonder about the emotions that they are experiencing and the social changes that are going on with their friends.  You wonder what happened to your sweet child and why they have changed so much. The links on this page are designed to help you, as parents, understand your middle grade student better.

Young adolescence is a time when your child is going through more changes physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially than they have before or will go through in the future.  The links on this page are meant to be viewed as you need them or all at once.  Start with the "Zion Middle Grades Information" and the "Introduction to Young Adolescence" links and go from there through the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development links in whatever way works best for you.  Access the lists of references and resources that you can use to help equip you to better deal with your young adolescent.
