At Zion Lutheran School, we have been blessed by our Preschool program for many
years. Today at Zion, we are building on the excellent foundation of our past as we
strive to grow into the future.
Zion Preschool supports parents in providing a child’s first formal school experience by
assisting and nurturing the child in his or her spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and
physical growth.
We believe that each child is a unique creation and gift of God. Because of this
uniqueness, each child develops at different rates. We strive to meet the individual
needs of the children in our program by providing instruction that is developmentally
appropriate. For a well-rounded program, we help the children meet their needs in the
following ways:
Spiritual: Provide opportunities to grow in knowing Christ as their Savior and friend, to
see God in the world around them, to pray daily, and to grow in Christian example.
Physical: Provide appropriate activities to help develop gross and fine motor skills.
Intellectual: Provide opportunities to learn about God’s world and to learn how to ask
and answer questions.
Emotional: Provide opportunities to develop a sense of competence and worth by
experiencing Christian love, receiving steady and consistent guidance, and achieving
successes.
Social: Provide opportunities to enjoy the companionship of others, to learn to be
comfortable away from home, to learn to share, and to develop respect for others’ rights
as well as one’s own rights. |
