*Box Tops for Education

Please save the Box Tops for Education labels and turn them into the school office.  Zion Lutheran School receives 10 cents for each label turned in.  This money is used to buy items for your child’s classroom. 

 

     

*Campbell Soup Labels

Please send in the UPC from Campbell’s products.   If you’re not sure what to send, just send in the entire label. ☺ Thanks for saving!

 

 

 

*Cellular Phones

Zion Lutheran School is participating in the Motorola Race to Recycle and needs your old cellular phones!  Our school will receive $3 for each intact phone that we recycle.  Only intact phones will qualify for payment.  The screen must not be cracked, the hinge should be functional, and internal     parts should not be exposed.  Phones do not have to have a battery to qualify for payment.  We can send broken phones and any accessories to be recycled, but we will not be paid for them.  There will be phone recycling boxes in the school office and in the ministry center of the church, so just drop them in there!  All money earned from phone recycling will benefit the computer lab.

 

 

*Empty Inkjet Cartridges

Empty inkjet cartridges with a print head can be recycled and remanufactured.  Our school will receive up to $4.00 for each cartridge turned in.  Profits from this fundraiser will benefit the music program.  Place the cartridge in a Ziploc bag and put it in the recycle box in the school office. 

 

 

*Aluminum Cans

The profit from recycling aluminum cans goes towards the 8th Grade Chicago trip.

 

 

 

*Milk Jug Caps

Our school is participating in the milk jub lid collection sponsored by Madison County recycling.  When our school reaches 3,000 milk caps, we can put our name in for a free picnic table.

 

*Paper Recycling 

Don’t forget to save our newspapers, magazines and paper for recycling.  On Church Drive next to the dumpster is the big green and yellow paper recycling dumpster.  Zion Lutheran School receives a quarterly check for our recyling efforts.

 

*Plastic rings from 6 pack soda

Save the plastic rings from 6-pack sodas.  The rings are recycled to make new rings and other items.  The rings are photodegradable and non-toxic.  This helps reduce littler, save natural resources and energy.

 

 

*Capri Sun Juice Pouches:  We are collecting Capri Sun Juice pouches for $$$$$. 

 

 

 

 

Other Ways to Help…

Entertainment Book Fundraiser:  The Entertainment book offers 50% savings on family fun, dining out, travel, shopping and more!  Each booklet also includes $30.00 in Shop and Save coupons.  And a $5.00 gift card to Cecil Whitakers, Culpeppers, TGI Fridays and Bandannas BBQ.  You can recoup your investment immediately by using these coupons and gift cards.  We are encouraging each family to sell 5 books.  For each 5 books sold per family, you will receive a free book and your name will go into a drawing to win one of five $25.00 gift certificate from the scrip program.  Also each family who sells 5 books will receive a stuffed zoo animal.  The cost of the book is $30.00 each.  The fundraiser ends September 11th.  You may turn in your order for additional books at any time.  Thanks for supporting this fundraiser.  This is the major school office fundraiser of the year.  The money raised will help buy many needed items for the school that are not budgeted for.

Schnucks eScrip Community Card:  Here is another easy way to support Zion if you shop at Schnucks.  For every dollar you spend, Schnucks will contribute up to 3% of your purchase amount to Zion Lutheran School.

• Visit Schnucks and request a Schnucks eScrip Community card.
• Activate your card by calling 1-800-931-6258 or visit www.escrip.com/schnucks.jsp.
• Present your card to the cashier every time you shop at Schnucks.
• You can  pay for your groceries any way you choose.  Simply swiping your card generates contributions from Schnucks to our school.

 

 

 

 

DIRECTV4Schools:  We have enrolled in the DIRECTV4Schools fundraising program again this year.  Through DIRECTV4Schools, our school will receive a cash contribution for every new, existing or returning DIRECTV customer who commits to a year of DIRECTV satellite television service using our school code.  To participate, simply call 1-888-388-4724, use our school code FDPA and sign up for DIRECTV today.  Our school will receive $100 for each new customer who orders and activates DIRECTV service and $50 for existing or returning customers who extend their current commitment to DIRECTV for one year.

Thrivent Matching Funds:  Zion Lutheran School is a participant in the Thrivent Financial Services gift matching program.  Thrivent members who own products from either Thrivent Financial for       Lutherans, Thrivent Asset Management, or Thrivent Life Insurance Company can match their gifts up to $600.  Thrivent will then match 50% of your gift.  If you have any questions, contact the School Office at 377-5507.
